Re: Memorandum from NEHURIPD, Australia

With due respect, on behalf of the Nepalese Forum for Human Rights and People’s Democracy (NEHURIPD), Australia, we seriously draw your attention and seek your help on the following important issues to be resolved in the future ‘New Nepal’ with peace and prosperity and sovereignty of Nepalese people.

1.      We kindly request for your immediate initiatives for granting the voting right to Nepalese living abroad during the elections to Constituent Assembly. Let the voting provision be available for them at their respective countries of residence.

2.      The report of Rayamajhi Commission is very important to understand the different roles and activities played by various suppressors during the people's democratic movement-2. That is why, we request for the provision to make the Commission's Report public and urge immediate action against those individuals implicated by Rayamajhi Commission as violators of Human Rights and crimes against humanity.

3.      Achieving international justice and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) are the major international issues in the sectors of justice and human rights. Therefore, we urge that Nepal Government take immediate steps in its commitment to international justice and the rule of law by accepting the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
