Human Rights Watch has recently published a report on Human Rights Watch 2012. Nepal has slided backwards on the issue creating more concerns on whether it will improve or continue going backwards and abolish the little progress it had made in past few years.
According to the report, the government of Nepal has made little progress in 2011 towards realizing people's economic, social, and cultural rights. Reports of lawlessness persist in many parts of the country, especially in the southern plains of the Terai and eastern hills. Allegations that armed grups and ethnically based organizations have been involved in killings, kidnappings, and extortion have not been investigated by the Nepali Authorities.
it has also highlighed the fact that the promises to draft a constitution that would address longstanding political, social, ethnic and economic inequalities and create a federal state have languised in the wake of political instability.
